Zhejiang Huafeng Motorcycle Fittings Co., Ltd.(China (Mainland))

Learning to navigate the “social network”, I have learned that you can work on one thing and have it go multiple places!! Who knew!! And, so…
Here is Motorcycle Travel America.com’s Facebook page and the place I am putting all my Christmas gift ideas for 2011. Here is my Motorcycle Travel America.com’s Twitter page where this blog post will be displayed.
I hope everyone who reads this will find some value here and perhaps find a great gift idea for that motorcycle person in their lives.
If you have an idea for a gift that will make a motorcycle rider happy, let me know and I will research it and display it on our Facebook page with credit going to the one providing the idea. So…. bring it and let’s get some great ideas out there.

Meeting Jason and Kelly….

It’s so funny to meet someone on Twitter and have a long running relationship with them… and then finally meet them! This isn’t the first Twitter buddy I have met and I have to say that I have been blessed with some great friendships that I can’t imagine loosing, ever! In fact, Andrea D’assis, designer of the Wrapter hair wrap and “chickthatrides” on Twitter, met me in Vegas for some fun.
Enter Jason hellcatcustoms on Twitter, Kelly fierypinkgirl on Twitter, and Fred smoothbiker on Twitter! Man did I have a good time and have found more great riding friends.
I just wanted to thank Jason and Kelly for all the good times had and for the great bike and bike show experience. You two are awesome!

Time to get back to that motorcycle thing I do……

Ah, summer… those long days of sunshine, friends, and the bikes we love. It has been an incredibly mild summer here in Oregon with no days in the 90s yet. That makes riding perfect for me and no time to complain about my riding gear being too hot… again, yet!
Life has been a little chaotic in my family for the last 5 months and that has taken me away from the things that I normally do, aka this blog. In addition, I havent visited on Twitter with all my friends far away, I havent even posted pictures and events on Facebook, I havent caught up on the travels of Ms. Marilyn Bragg (also, Chessie) on the pages of IronWorks Magazine (Pg 18 in the newest edition), couldnt follow the ride of my friend Tamela Rich and the Conga Line, missed a trip to photograph those amazing ladies in the Conga Line with my dear friend Christina Shook, and have neglected my mc clubs. I am truly ashamed of how I have allowed myself to be drawn away. But, Hark!! (havent you ever wanted to just blurt that out in a conversation?) Things are about to change…..

Next post…. “When life gives you lemons…build a bike!” Jason Sarratt of Hellcat Customs is at it again….

With a wink…wink,wink…

Desitin and a follow up…

Marilyn ElmoreWith the suggestion of a new idea, aka the Desitin, comes a comment from my friend Marilyn, (aka Chessie’s Tales , on Facebook, and Twitter). A word to the wise from someone who knows;
“Do be very careful around the eyes. In the heat of the day, the cream can…and will find it’s way into the eyes. I know… My mistake was to put it above my eyes just below the eye brows. I Didn’t cover the entire lid but the stuff did kinda “melt” and slide down into my eye from the wind pushing it around. Burned a bit…Yeowza!”

Thanx, Marilyn!
And remember to do a test patch to make sure you aren’t allergic or sensitive before you hit the road.

a close call with “ape hangers”….

PICT0015

Over at the blog site “Better Motorcycling“, I found this story about a very scary mishap with a bike, a couple, and  ape hangers…see picture.

I had dinner with my buddy Stephanie Basalyga (on facebook, aka @motorcyclejones on Twitter) and was showing her the garage where we will be doing an interview on Sunday. I was showing her the bikes and telling her about changing out the handlebars on the HD, in the back of my mind I was remembering this picture. Sadly, I don’t like my ape hangers! Maybe I shouldn’t have insisted on the 16″, maybe I should have test ridden a bike with the ape hangers first, maybe I should have left the damn bike alone because the stock handlebars were great!  But, the husband absolutely LOVES them. He thinks the bike handles better……Venus and Mars, I tell ya.

Ridin nerdi from fuzzygalore..iphone app The Roadside America, a re-tweet.

Back in October, my tweeting and blogging friend Rachael, aka Fuzzygalore, posted a blog post that I just loved.  It was about an iPhone app called “The Roadside America”.  Interesting may not be a large enough word to explain what this app and website have to offer.  Being in the motorcycle travel and mapping business, I found it to be particularly “up my alley”. Leave it to Rachael to find something that turns out to be so much fun and beneficial when you want to put together a unique ride with friends or alone. You can read the blog post at Fuzzygalore.com
So, check out this fabulous blog post and take time to thank Rachael at Fuzzygalore on twitter.
