Zhejiang Huafeng Motorcycle Fittings Co., Ltd.(China (Mainland))

Learning to navigate the “social network”, I have learned that you can work on one thing and have it go multiple places!! Who knew!! And, so…
Here is Motorcycle Travel America.com’s Facebook page and the place I am putting all my Christmas gift ideas for 2011. Here is my Motorcycle Travel America.com’s Twitter page where this blog post will be displayed.
I hope everyone who reads this will find some value here and perhaps find a great gift idea for that motorcycle person in their lives.
If you have an idea for a gift that will make a motorcycle rider happy, let me know and I will research it and display it on our Facebook page with credit going to the one providing the idea. So…. bring it and let’s get some great ideas out there.

Las Vegas, here we come!

My bags are packed and Im ready to go…. Las Vegas Bikefest is calling my name.  I feel like Im waiting to give birth. Really! Think about it; I conceived a baby..the reverse trike idea, I found the best OBGYN…builder Jason Sarratt of Hellcat Customs, I’ve seen the ultra-sound…the teaser pictures from Jason, and now I wait to see what the little critter comes out looking like…at the Las Vegas Bikefest.
This is the last picture I have seen… notice that its not a whole picture! Jason is such a tease…

Now, as Jason has made perfectly clear…. What I am about to see in Las Vegas is simply the bike with the concept showing but, its not the finished product. My beautiful baby will be worked on until early spring… pre-mature birth and she still needs the tender love and care of her pediatrition…yup, you guessed it. Jason!  I dont even care! I will be falling in love in a matter of days….Im on the count down…Wednesday, Thursday, Friday!! Stay tuned to Motorcycle Travel America’s Facebook page for the baby pictures and videos.

A very happy Lady Godiva on wheels, packed and more than ready to go.
FYI.. my spell check is mal-functioning so no wise-cracks about my spelling. Im tired!

Time to get back to that motorcycle thing I do……

Ah, summer… those long days of sunshine, friends, and the bikes we love. It has been an incredibly mild summer here in Oregon with no days in the 90s yet. That makes riding perfect for me and no time to complain about my riding gear being too hot… again, yet!
Life has been a little chaotic in my family for the last 5 months and that has taken me away from the things that I normally do, aka this blog. In addition, I havent visited on Twitter with all my friends far away, I havent even posted pictures and events on Facebook, I havent caught up on the travels of Ms. Marilyn Bragg (also, Chessie) on the pages of IronWorks Magazine (Pg 18 in the newest edition), couldnt follow the ride of my friend Tamela Rich and the Conga Line, missed a trip to photograph those amazing ladies in the Conga Line with my dear friend Christina Shook, and have neglected my mc clubs. I am truly ashamed of how I have allowed myself to be drawn away. But, Hark!! (havent you ever wanted to just blurt that out in a conversation?) Things are about to change…..

Next post…. “When life gives you lemons…build a bike!” Jason Sarratt of Hellcat Customs is at it again….

With a wink…wink,wink…

Desitin and a follow up…

Marilyn ElmoreWith the suggestion of a new idea, aka the Desitin, comes a comment from my friend Marilyn, (aka Chessie’s Tales , on Facebook, and Twitter). A word to the wise from someone who knows;
“Do be very careful around the eyes. In the heat of the day, the cream can…and will find it’s way into the eyes. I know… My mistake was to put it above my eyes just below the eye brows. I Didn’t cover the entire lid but the stuff did kinda “melt” and slide down into my eye from the wind pushing it around. Burned a bit…Yeowza!”

Thanx, Marilyn!
And remember to do a test patch to make sure you aren’t allergic or sensitive before you hit the road.

what I did after the International Motorcycle Show…look out “Big Apple”

After the International Motorcycle Show, I didn’t have much of a voice left.  32 hours of talking to everyone that came along and I was pretty beat up.  My partner in crime, Andrea D’Assis, creator of the Wrapter hair wrap, decided that we should just take our “bucket” lists and “get lost”.  Believe me, we did that by accident!! Judging by the miles we put on our boots, we got lost and found and lost again but, we couldn’t have had more fun. Take a peek at all the pictures at Motorcycle Travel America.com via Facebook…. Click on the picture to see our adventure.

PS… Still need to send out a shout to Christina Shook. Without her invitation, we wouldn’t have had the great adventure we had. Christina, you’re the best!!

Motorcycle Travel America.com goes to the International Motorcycle Show in NYC…

I had an awesome opportunity to be a part of the International Motorcycle Show in New York City with my buddy, the author of “Chicks on Bikes”, Christina Shook.  Knowing this woman has opened my eyes to exactly what it means to put yourself out there and “just do it”.  And so, that’s exactly what I did.  I spent three days in a booth at the show and literally talked for 32 hours about the new website my family just launched, Motorcycle Travel America.com.  Yup… talked my little self into a sore throat and no voice by Sunday night.
I only had about an hour to tour the show and enjoy the row after row of beautiful motorcycle…. and drool!  Here are the pictures of what I saw…. enjoy!!

A special thank you goes out to my friend Christina Shook. You may just push me into success and I thank you for it!!

More of my favorite things..books and games, always a crowd pleaser.

I love to get books and games for the people I love. You can individualize them all you want but, more than likely each one of them will serve several persons quite well. That’s the beauty of books and games and I have a couple to share with my readers…

Gallery

The first is a book that I just love! It sparks the rider in all of us but, centers on the special strength and fluidity of a woman on the back of a machine..making it a part of her.  I’m rather fond of the author, as well. My friend, Christina Shook, is a mix of many people but, the photographer and artist are by far the most predominate. She has such an eye and the book not only shows her talent as a photographer but,  it also shows her strength in picking her subjects.  This book is a must have for anyone and everyone. Check out “Chicks on Bikes” and order a few for all the bikers in your life.

The second of my favorite things is a great new board game developed by a couple of

guys named David Veal and Steve Schader. The game called “American Throttle” was to create a fun experience for trivia players who happen to love motorcycling. They also made the game work for those who just love to tour the country, love rock n roll, love poker, like to hang around their friends and party. I don’t think you can go wrong with this one, regardless of gender or age, this is fun in a box. Since its new on the market, I guarantee that you wont find someone who already has one.

Now, one more idea… who doesn’t need a calendar? Seriously..from the mail carrier to the kids teachers, everyone needs a calendar. The one that has landed on my wish list this year is the one from BikeEXIF 2011  with thirteen of the world’s most beautiful custom motorcycles, from builders including Deus in Australia, Denmark’s Wrench monkees and Ritmo Sereno of Japan. Multilingual day and months in English, French, Italian, German and Japanese. If you don’t drool then you aren’t human!! You are going to want one or two of the bikes…you wont be able to help yourself! I’m still stuck in May.. Oh, my…

A magazine subscription is a gift that keeps giving all year! I have two that I truelyCurrent Issue
love and don’t like to live without. The first is Morotcycle Consumer News Magazine and I rely on it for the more technical stories about motorcycles and their riders. You can always count on them to let you know what recalls are happening and what new models are coming and going.  I find them to be extremely useful in my line of work and just love reading them.

IronWorks MagazineNow for my total entertainment… that would be my IronWorksMagazine. I get great intel from this magazine as well but, the pictures, the human interest stories, and perhaps the fact that Marilyn Elmore (chesshirecat on Twitter and Chessie’s Tales, Motorcycles and Rides ) is a contributing editor and one of my favorite people in the industry, makes it my personal favorite. I truly get giddy when I go out to the mailbox and find that magazine inside. My family knows that if they go out and find that magazine they are NOT to crack the cover before I do…it is simply not done in my house. LOL  I can be really scary when crossed. Check this one out if you want a magazine with a little bit of everything.

I have a new favorite in the magazine section that deserves mention. The Throttle

PhotobucketGals Magazine is a new one on the scene and if it continues the way its going, I want to write for them one day. True, it is a magazine that is done to appeal to women but, if the guys in your life can’t find something to love about this beautifully done magazine, then HE shouldnt touch it!! LOL  You really have to check them out and if you have a woman in your life that likes ALL things that go vrooom.. Throttle Gals Magazine is for her.

So, there you have the bulk of my research for Christmas gifts for bikers. But, wait. There is one more little idea that I have come up with. I’m going to let my fingers rest for a couple of days and then I will be back… Please hold!!

Lady Godiva on wheels… with one more trick up my sleeve!
